| Firstly I'm a newbie here, so Hello to you all. I have a quick question - I'm looking for a supplier of 6V batteries. My last battery only lasted 18 months before conking out (a Meteor 404). Can anyone recommend somewhere else? Cheers, Klaus |

| Hi, Welcome to pre67. I've bought one from Tayna for my '58 but not tried it out yet... | I also got mt 6V battery from Tanya, however mine is far from original spec. It is a Optima as takes all the abuse you can throw at it. https://www.tayna.co.uk/Optima-Red-Top-RT-S-2.1-P429.html Ref is Optima Red Top RT S 2.1 (8010-355) RTS2.1 It is not cheap but has never failed me and started the beetle even after 13 months with no action. I would never go back to any other 6Volt battery. :d |

| Glad i read this as my battery has given up after only 18 months .My car is not used regularly ,maybe once or twice a month and normally i have to top up the charging after a couple of weeks.Despite the non standard format (especially after just finding the correct cover)i have ordered the optima battery as i think it will suit my needs better. |
