Andy, that's because your car is in the 'Inner Circle' display since it's a pre August 1960.
Cheers,
Rob.

We're now approaching the deadline for entries into The Historic Beetle Display (The Inner Circle). Anyone who would like to enter their un-modified, pre August 1960 beetle in this display can do so by downloading the form on the Stanford Hall Show website and sending it to Keith Vipond. Alternatively you can send me a PM with your name and address, contact phone number and car details and then Keith will post you a pass.
Don't forget that this pass also allows you free entry into the show, something that only Concours d'Elegance and Historic Beetle Display participants enjoy. Please also remember that it is pre-booked entries only with no un-booked access to this display on the day.
Hope to see you there. :d :d
Cheers,
Rob.

We've got some days off from work and just decided to make the crossing to England next weekend. I will drive my 1968 Type 34 Ghia... We will make a 5-day trip, including a short visit to Cambridge and some days at the Suffolk coast. Looking forward to the VW show, last time I've been there (long ago...) it was great

Returned yesterday from a 5-day trip to the UK with the Karmann Ghia: a short visit to Cambridge on Saturday, Stanford Hall VW meeting on Sunday, followed by a stay at the beautiful Suffolk coast (in a charming hotel in Aldeburgh). Driven about 1500 kms all together, the Type 34 proved to be the ideal touring car...
Stanford Hall was great, one of the best VW shows I've visited ever... I was amazed to see this many cars and such a crowd on a one day event. Congratulations to the organizers!
My pictures & show report will follow soon in ClassicVW Magazine.

Looked like a great show this year, gutted I couldn't go but my dissertation was due a few days after so I think I made the sensible choice. At least theres next year
Did anyone find out what the deal was with the three tailpipes on that Oval?, I have never seen that before.
Posted by: RoRoVw - 12 May 2013 18:32:03
The three tail pipe oval was purchased new in 1956 by the uncle of the present owner. The uncle was a designer/inventor and added many little touches of his own. The three tail pipe exhaust was one he made himself along with the detachable rear valence to aid removal of the engine. The present owner was left the car when his uncle died 25 years ago. He drove it from London to North Yorkshire at that time and it has remained in his garage, un-used, until this year when he re-commissioned it. The trip to Stanford Hall was the furthest it had been since the drive north from London.
Rob.
