They changed from black to silver sometime after the Oval model,in the sixties i think. Prof Rich will know for sure.

i always find it strange that people think they were black. They werent! as George says. thanks for the kind words :smile: I think they changed to silver in 1960. :thumbup:

So I am right in thinking they were silver... sometimes... Atleast I'm not going mad.. but sadly I think I'm becoming an old buffer! ;) My guess is before 1960... but I dont know when :D
