International Vintage Volkswagen Forums

Firstly I'm a newbie here, so Hello to you all.

I have a quick question - I'm looking for a supplier of 6V batteries. My last battery only lasted 18 months before conking out (a Meteor 404). Can anyone recommend somewhere else?

Cheers,

Klaus

Hi, Welcome to pre67.

I've bought one from Tayna for my '58 but not tried it out yet...

Didn't come with enough acid to cover the plates though! :?

Ref is Optima Red Top RT S 2.1
(8010-355) RTS2.1

It is not cheap but has never failed me and started the beetle even after 13 months with no action. I would never go back to any other 6Volt battery. :d

I'm pretty sure I can do them cheaper than that, feel free to give me a call... Karmann Konnection 01702 601155

Thanks everybody, much appreciated.

Glad i read this as my battery has given up after only 18 months .My car is not used regularly ,maybe once or twice a month and normally i have to top up the charging after a couple of weeks.Despite the non standard format (especially after just finding the correct cover)i have ordered the optima battery as i think it will suit my needs better.
