yer will do, anyone else had one rebuilt by him?

I and Chris can both vouch for Peter Good, does an excellent job:thumbup:

brill thanks George, any idea on price?

Wouldn't like to say Rob,as it's about 4 years since Chris and i had Peter do our things(starters and dynamos). And you know how prices only go one way.
But lets say for the standard of work,VERY reasonable.

Peter is not taking on any more work until the Autumn.

ever seen a starter with an end like this?

how the heck is that meant to fit into the bushing.....odd

ive emailed the pics to peter goods to see what he thinks too.

hmmm:?

Dont think thats off a bug :omg: if it is a vw item perhaps an industrial motor ??????

Got an email from peter. According to him it's a 6v starter with 12v pinion gear made for the one year only 67 model year. Made not at vw or Bosch, but a small factory up the road from the factory that supplied vw.

I still don't understand how the short shaft is supported in the brass bush though :?

Is that a circlip on the end of the shaft ???? Have you got one to compare it to and have you a photo of the other end of the motor ?

got a reply from peter, these starters are as rare as rocking horse shit!

they are self supporting, so dont need a bronze bush! amazing huh

gonna give the internals a clean and then refit.

WOW i've lernt somethig to day  Andy
