I can't be bothered to read the previous 14 pages. Can someone please explain the whole story from the beginning?

1 car, many conflicting stories. Some guys who have been around a long time know more truth than the published info.

Just goes to prove though, it is an interesting car in part due to this sex lies and videotape provenance.

Reminds me of the backlash after Jamie O said his samba had a porsche engine in it on Topgear. ( By the way I LOVE Jamie O (almost as much as Hugh but not quite) and his new USA series is great!)

By the way Mr Standard, blank posts are illegal and subject to a user ban for lack of contentious content

The pics of the 're-borne car' if studied show what must be a replacement later style small window door, August 1955 - 1964, (small latch and no inside ribbing) on what was the badly damaged side, but still the pre August 1955 ribbed door on the undamaged (driver's) side.

Go back to page 6 and look at your pics. The right side door is clearly a pre-55 door with the rubber alignment wedges.  RTrapRep3.jpg You have insufficient rights to see the content.

Your totally right Bruce about the door.I put a lot of time into this thread ,finding old features etc and hope there is enough here for people to make there own mind up on this car.I dont think anyone is going to change there thoughts as its all a matter of personal opinion .The only thing i would still like to see are Tonys mileage logs from 1951 for his 1952 car...

Ah well, the Rattletrap 'theory' rumbles on – I did try to 'put it to bed':?

48 RME you'd best go to the 57 - 67 forum as you are so tired of this – lots of shiny cars there, yours too

However, for those of you still interested, I'll be posting some ground-breaking info on Rattletrap later today. This will be fact and not the guess work and theories that we've put up with so far.

You should know better than to take a painted peice of board as proof of manufacture 😳 . Chassis nunbers dont lie and Tony made the error of publishing the original number in Safer motoring .The chassis number published ties up with every detail on the car .Its a Zwitter made in December 52.That original chassis was swapped for a 55 by TBS years later.

Jury is still out

Yes, but Tony claimed to have mileage records back to 1950, the car is believed to ended-up with a 1953 chassis (as shown in your Safer Motoring copy)

Don't know where you get the '1952' chassis then '1955' chassis from[-x

The bomb-shell will come soon though:shock:

He's probably trying to work out how to post pictures and is delaying 'til he gets his head around it.
Or he's had a Seance and Tony ,himself, is about to come on line.
